A Mother

It was a yellow dinky toy
Clutched tightly in his hand
Carefully following his mom
That caught my eye this morning

Deep sadness welled up in my heart
And thankfulness as well.
As we were spared a burden
This mother has to bear

A grown man surely forty plus
His eyes the story told
What can I do but love this woman
For what she's going through

Lord keep me mindful to the pain
Scattered all around
And bless that mother every day
Until it's peace she's found
